Draft — pending legal review. This page describes how PrepVerse Live works today. It may change after review; we will tell you before any change that affects you.
Privacy Policy
PrepVerse Live ("we", "us") is run by Amark Intelligence Systems and Technology Private Limited, G-32, Lajpat Nagar Part-2, New Delhi 110024, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, where it is kept, who it is shared with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. What PrepVerse Live is
PrepVerse Live is an agentic AI system for exam preparation, starting with UPSC. It is not a single chatbot: several AI agents work together. Neurix is the agent you talk to. Manas Cortex is the thinking layer that decides how each request is handled, which knowledge to use, which AI model to call, and what may or may not leave our systems. Agents can draft, explain, make notes and quizzes on their own, but anything sensitive (spending credits or money, messaging other people, sharing your data, booking) is only proposed and waits for your OK.
The system has five kinds of intelligence, kept apart on purpose:
- Amark Intelligence (personal) — what Neurix learns about you (for example your weak topics). It belongs to you and is stored in your Amark Drive.
- Shared Intelligence — memory that belongs to one chat. It is only used when everyone involved agrees.
- App Intelligence — knowledge about the subject: syllabus, past questions (PYQs), sources. Contains no personal data.
- Central Intelligence — anonymous patterns across many learners, used only with your separate consent and only after your name and details are removed.
- Manas Cortex — the thinking layer that connects the four above and enforces the privacy rules below.
2. What we collect
- Account: your email address or Google sign-in, name, username, Amark ID, language, and whether you are 18 or over (and, if not, your parent or guardian's consent).
- What you give us: questions to Neurix, chat messages, files and photos you share, study sources you upload, notes, answers, tests and plans.
- How you use the app: what you study, scores, mistakes and weak topics, timings that keep the app fast, and (if you allow usage stats) which features you use.
- What Neurix infers: for example which topics you find hard. We treat inferences as personal data too.
- Contacts (phone app only, off by default): if you turn on contact sync, phone numbers are matched to find friends on PrepVerse Live. It is always off for under-18s.
We do not collect government ID numbers (Aadhaar, PAN, passport), biometrics, health records or bank account details. Please don't send them to Neurix.
3. Why we use it (purposes and consent)
When you sign up you choose, separately, what you agree to. You can change any of these later in Settings.
- Run the app (needed): to let Neurix answer you, save your chats and progress, and handle your bookings and credits.
- Usage stats (optional): to see which features work. We never sell your data.
- Help improve Neurix (optional): your study chats, with your name and details removed, may help train better models. This is never used for under-18s, and you can turn it off at any time.
4. Personal Intelligence: on, off, incognito
Next to every chat box there is a round PI button.
- PI on (green): Neurix may use what it knows about you to personalise the answer.
- PI off (grey): Neurix answers like a general assistant and does not use your personal data.
- Incognito (inside PI off, coming soon): Neurix will neither use nor save anything personal from that conversation.
You can see and delete what Neurix has learnt about you, or delete your whole account, at any time.
5. How we protect it: the Privacy Shield and the Egress Gateway
- Privacy Shield. Before a question goes to an outside AI model, our own system splits it: personal parts (names, phone numbers, your scores, places, and anything sensitive) are removed or replaced with placeholders, and only the anonymous core (for example "Explain Article 368 simply") is sent. If the Shield is not sure the text is clean, the request does not go out at all.
- Egress Gateway. Every call to an outside AI provider passes through one gateway that checks the payload again, blocks anything personal, and keeps a fingerprint of what left — not the text itself. Our tests run 1,000 attack cases in six languages on every change; today they show 0 leaks.
- Encryption. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Chats between people are not end-to-end encrypted today; we say so in the app. End-to-end encryption for chats between people is planned.
- Neurix in a chat only sees what you send to it or quote to it. It never reads the chat on its own, and never uses one person's personal data in front of others.
6. Voice
Your phone or browser's own speech recognition turns your voice into text (it is the device's service, under its own terms). PrepVerse Live never receives or saves the recording, and no outside AI hears it. We keep the text, like any chat. You can switch this off any time in Settings.
When Neurix reads text aloud or translates, the text (not your voice) is sent to Sarvam AI, an Indian language provider, and isn't stored by them. Bhashini (Government of India) may be used for the same tasks. If Indian speech services fail, a voice step may use Google Gemini, which runs outside India; this is closed today and we will update this policy before it opens.
7. AI-generated content is labelled
Everything Neurix writes carries the Neurix mark so you can tell it apart from people, and machine translations are marked as translated, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules as amended for synthetically generated information. No claim is shown as fact unless it is backed by a source; if Neurix is not sure, it says so. AI can still make mistakes — check important facts against official sources.
8. Where your data is kept
- Your account, chats, files and study data are stored in India (database and file storage in Mumbai, by Supabase).
- Our app server runs in Singapore (Railway) and our website in Mumbai (Vercel). Requests pass through them; personal data is stored in the Mumbai database.
- Outside AI models (reached through OpenRouter, for example Google Gemini) may run outside India. They receive only the anonymous core described above, never your name, contact details or personal history.
9. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We use these service providers only to run PrepVerse Live: Supabase (database, sign-in, storage), Railway (app server), Vercel (website), Google (sign-in with Google), OpenRouter and the AI models behind it (anonymous text only), Sarvam AI and Bhashini (translation and speech), Resend (sign-in codes and app emails), and Expo (phone app delivery). We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
10. How long we keep it
- Your personal data: while your account is active, and each record carries a retention date (normally one year).
- When you delete your account, your data is erased straight away; encrypted backups age out on their normal rotation.
- Payment records the law requires (for example GST invoices) are kept apart from your profile, without your name or phone.
- Messages you sent in other people's chats stay with them, shown from "Deleted account".
11. Children
Users under 18 need verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. For them we switch off training use, contact sync and "everyone can message me", and use guardian-safe defaults. PrepVerse Live shows no ads.
12. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)
- Access: ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correction and completion: fix anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure: delete your account in Settings → Delete my account, or see how to delete.
- Withdraw consent: turn optional consents off in Settings at any time; it is as easy as giving them.
- Nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act.
- Grievance: complain to our Grievance Officer (below). If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
13. Grievance Officer and contact
Grievance Officer, Amark Intelligence Systems and Technology Private Limited, G-32, Lajpat Nagar Part-2, New Delhi 110024, India. Email privacy@prepverse.online. We acknowledge and resolve complaints within the time the law requires. For help with the app: support@prepverse.online.
14. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. See also our Terms of Use.
